Q: Can a Medical associate group discharge a family over a phone call argument?
The name on my sons shot records and the name i registered him in didnt match when i took him to hospital. The hospital staff asked me and i clarified so he was seen by the doctor and we went home. Apparently the hospital sent a sheriff to our house because they suspected something. The sheriff was at my house knocking at the window and doors (i wasnt home) till a neighbour called me and gave my number to the sheriff. I spoke to the sheriff and sorted the matter out. My husband talked to the program manager of the medical group and expressed his dis-satisfaction with the incident.
in the evening the program manager calls me (the wife) and says that we are being group discharged as a family from the medical group and according to her, my husband used threatening language.
Are these grounds enough to be discharged as a group from the medical associate group. They called me and told me about the group discharge. I was not aware of what my husband said over the phone.
A: Are you asking if a doctor's office can refuse to take you as a patient? If that is the question, the answer is yes.
A: Yes. No one has to do business with you against their will (absent a duty otherwise).
