A: Your attorney hired a person who happened to be a potential witness against you? What was this person hired to do?

From what you have said, while it may be a conflict of interest to hire the potential witness, your attorney appears to have intentionally created the conflict. Since you were the client first, the attorney has the duty to resolve the conflict in your favor (rather than in the attorney's favor or the witness/ employee's favor).

This question is rather confusing. By "attorney hires client", do you perhaps mean that your attorney was hired by the witness as the witness' attorney? That would be more like the classic conflict of interest scenario.
