Q: Could I get in trouble for contacting the person I pressed charges against? Involving domestic battery by strangulation.
More info.... I had an injunction before but dismissed it already. Could he get in trouble for me talking to him as well. Im trying to drop the charges. I believe his lawyer said he has to stay away still but I dont understand if there isnt a an injunction anymore. Will I have to wait till his final saying till I can talk to him.
A: The criminal court has most likely entered an order which prohibits him from contacting you directly or indirectly. The court might be willing to modify that order to a no violent contact, instead of no contact. It would probably do that if there is a motion made and you testify about it at a hearing.
