Im sorry, limited characters makes it difficult.. I am to undergo surgery soon, & I want to have all of my ducks in a row if something happens to me. Ex husband (childs bio father) signed over all sole responsibilities & rights to me in our divorce decree. I am remarried, and wish that in the event that something happens to me, my now husband to have custody of my son. How (if at all) do I go about making this possible?

A: One would have to read the final judgment to make sure that you got what you think you got in the divorce. If you were to die, the other biological parent would automatically be the guardian of the child. The way to be sure that you have all of your ducks in a row is to effect a step parent adoption rather swiftly, and you need to hire an attorney for that.
