Atlanta, GA asked in Animal / Dog Law for Kentucky

Q: My boy friend at the time got a puppy for free and gave her to me as a present. We broke up. Who keeps her

I named her and when we broke up he kept her after even admitting she was mine. Then he got arrested and told me to go get her until he got out. Now he is saying that when he gets out he is taking her. But he gave her to me as a present t. I picked her out had her picked out for weeks and he knows how much I love her thats the only reason he is trying to take her. Since he gave her to me as a present. And I named her. And that shes been with me for the last 3 weeks dont I keep her?

A: Yes, you keep her. Either keep the dog or go get another when he comes to take her. Perhaps, you should call the police when he tries to take the dog.
