Q: Need advice for mediation hearing with a debt collector?
What information would they ask me?
Do I have to answer their questions? like where I live, work, how much I make, if I'm married, my expenses, bank account? etc.
I want to pay, but don't want to give them any of my information.
A: Mediation is not a hearing. Basically, they just want to know how much you can afford to pay on the debt and want you to sign a stipulation that you will pay it off. If you fail to make a payment, they can get a judgment against you.
