Brooklyn, NY asked in Criminal Law for Massachusetts

Q: Was i Properly summoned to court or will i even be summoned. All they asked was my name and took down my address.

Boston paramedics and police came to my house to assist an intoxicated minor. One office said to another, "give him a court summons." They did not specify what for or give me any papers, tickets, or information about the situation.

They also could not prove that the minor was in my house given/consuming alcohol as their were 5 or so other parties on my street alone.

EDITED DETAILS:

I was not given any papers. One officer told another officer to give me a court summons. The officer that was directed to give me a summons asked for my first and last name. Afterwards he said have a goodnight.

Primarily I am curious as to when the officer was told to summons me, was he supposed to give me a ticket, letter, note, or anything stating that i was being summoned along with the reason why.

No one told me what the reason for summoning or anything else about it.

I apologize if im not clear enough.
