La Jolla, CA asked in Real Estate Law for California

Q: Im buyer in an addendum to a purchase agreement with a deed belonging to a trust I am not apart of. Do I have a claim?

This house was purchased for my ex-husband and I with our contributing incomes but the house belongs to his family trust. The property was only sold to us under the agreement that my ex and I were named as buyers. They are currently trying to sell the home.

A: I'm very sorry, but your facts are confusing. You'll have to bring your documents to an attorney to review the title to the property, the trust instrument, and the purchase agreement. Contact an attorney for a full consultation.
