Q: When does a mother lose the right to take her child anywhere?
My in laws claim they filed for custody and the lawyer told them i can not leave with her amd can only visit for certain hours. I have not received the first piece of mail all I know is what the in laws are telling me. Can I go get my daughter from their house legally?
A: Not if there is a Court Order that says they have custody of the child! Go to the clerk of court and see what they have filed. Better yet, hire yourself an attorney and defend your rights to your child. Don't sit at home and wait for something to come to you in the mail. Get to the Court House in the jurisdiction where you live and make sure they have your address and make sure that you get a copy of whatever if filed.
