Hollywood, FL asked in Employment Law for Florida

Q: Was I unlawfully fired and do I have a case against them?

I got hired at a Chilis restaurant. I applied online and included my birthday and all my information. I had an interview with a manager and informed her that I could only work after school because I was still in high school. They hired me and I proceeded to file more paperwork and showed them my drivers license and social security number. They had multiple ways to see how old I was and I blatently entered my birthday of "May 21,1999" in front of a manager and they said nothing to me about being 16. On the second day the kitchen manager went up to one of my co-workers and asked how old I was. She replied with "16" which was true. He then came up to me a short while later and informed me that they don't hire 16 year olds because of labor laws and then told me his boss would call me today to see what they could do for me and let me know if I could still work there. I have not gotten a call yet and they took me off the working schedule.

A: No, absent an employment contact stating otherwise you can be fired for any non-discriminatory reason.
