Saint Paul, MN asked in Criminal Law and Constitutional Law for Minnesota

Q: I live in Minnesota. Is it okay to put up a 'No Soliciting' sign?

Today two Jehovah Witness members showed up at my doorstep. I had no intention to invite them in and didn't like the feeling of anyone trying to force their beliefs on me. I was trying to research more about this issue, but can't seem to find any legitimate documentation on this. Could you please let me know if it is acceptable in Saint Paul, MN to put up a sign to try to prevent them from giving a long speech on how I need to convert? Thanks.

A: Put up the sign, tell them to scram.
