Waltham, MA asked in Domestic Violence for Rhode Island

Q: How to get a domestic assault and no contact order dropped?

My fiance and I were arguing and he grabbed my wrist to prevent me from turning my back on him. My sister heard the argument from another room and forced herself into the room where I was. My fiance explained that she was getting into our business and tried to get her to leave. She refused and got a little physical with my fiance pushing him. My sister called the cops and my fiance ran off scared. The police took pictures of bruises on my arm that i received from work related activites and claimed it was a result from the "attack". A no contact order was filed by the police and a court date was set for the charges. All of it was caused by a misunderstanding and I want the charges and no contact order to be dropped so we do not have to postpone our marriage any longer. It is all just an inconvenience and a disruption in my life.
