Jeffersonville, IN asked in Criminal Law and Civil Rights for Indiana

Q: Is it illegal for cops to pull their guns and point them at my face without good reason ?

Wife was having an affair lied to get epo and used it to have me arrested because i found out about her affair and informed the wife of the man she was cheating with . Did the cops have the right to arrest me on her word and put guns in my face while doing so . They also locked me in a holding cell with a man out of his mind on herion . I have no record at all to justify their actions and have been married to this woman since 2004 and been a couple since 1989 .

A: There may be an excessive force issue. Police have qualified immunity, and excessive force claims are difficult to prove, but talking to a civil rights attorney would be an option.
