Q: Can an ex-Muslim (Muslim apostate) from Pakistan come to the USA on Humanitarian grounds?
\I have good friend of mine who is part of a military family in Pakistan. She fears for her life because she is a Muslim apostate (ex-Muslim) which is punishable by death in Pakistan. A cousin of her's was part of an "honor killing" in Pakistan about a month ago. I am wondering if she might be able to come to the USA for Humanitarian reasons and if so, what would be involved in this. Would she need sponsorship? What would the sponsor need to prove (as far as income; proof of support), etc. Please return my email as soon as you can.
A: She should be eligible to visit the USA on a B-2 visa. I doubt that she would be issued humanitarian parole.
