Q: Husband wants to buy a condo in FLA using money from our joint account but doesn't want my name on the deed. Possible?

We live overseas. My husband is USA citizen but not resident. I am not citizen of USA. What happens in case of divorce?

A: Property purchased during the marriage is considered to be a marital asset, regardless of how the property is titled. So this property would still be subject to equitable distribution.

A: In case of a divorce, the property would be divided according to the laws of the state or country were the divorce occurs. While it is true that in Florida property divided during the marriage is equitably divided, it doesn't appear that Florida could be the location of a divorce in this situation.

A: Yes he can do that but you have to sign certain documents at the closing.
