A: Both abandonment and HIPAA are unlikely to get you representation unless you want to pay for it. HIPAA violations have no real penalty as far as a money judgment for the patient; abandonment is hard make into an actionable case when you are in a physcian rich enviornmnent. And if you are having a tough time finding an attorney it may be because they are telling you there is no case worth their pursuing in terms of risking their time and you may wish to consider that if it's not that likely to succeeed it isn't worth your investment of signifiocant emotional energy. However this website, others have find a lawyer feature. The other way is to go to the county courthouse for the hospital you have in mind, look up cases where it's been a defendant, pull the complaint and see if it is malpractice, and call those atttorneys.
