Tampa, FL asked in Animal / Dog Law and Landlord - Tenant for Florida

Q: My dog was stolen from my room that i rent by my landlord and shot twice. The sheriffs wont do anything, what can i do?

I called the sheriffs out here twice & they wouldnt even investigate because its "just a dog!" ..they said. She admitted to them even that she took her out of my room but not to shooting her. The vet has saved the bullet for me & i know it will match up to one of her guns! I know that at the least, she broke the law by entering my room that i rent and taking my dog without my permission! Thats violating my renters rights and stealing my property! She cant get away with what she did! Plz tell me what i can do!...

A: Sue her, in small claims court, for the vet bill.
