Q: Small, residential prog. Parents signed contract and pd. Nonref.deposit and 1st month. 2nd mth, kid left. Suing for $
They owe 3,600 unpaid balance; paid 1,500 NR deposit and $900 towards the $6,000 tuituon. Since they were dissatisfied, I didn't try to collect unpaid balance. Child was over 18, but lawsuit says "contract with minor"/missreprentation of program. But contract was signed and notarized by parents and program description is accurate on website as well as parents brought kid on 1st day. It is a small "no frills" program (residential for 8 months only 6,000!). It is geared for graduating HS students who are academically low performing or desire to strengthen athletic ability to be recruited by colleges. It is cheap for private pay standards, but we play 40+ games a season and students end up recruited to Jr. Colleges and colleges from the program. Solid program.labor of love!! But again humble (safe) living and working quarters to keep cost down. Suing for $12,400. Money paid plus 10,000?!....please advise
