Pagosa Springs, CO asked in Traffic Tickets for Colorado

Q: In July 14 I got a speeding ticket in NY, I live in CO. I pd it, have proof of payment. CO says my license is suspended?

I have proof of payment and the court in NY said they would notify CO. I was pulled over tonight and they said my license is suspended and my court date is not until jan 9th! How can remove the suspension? I have a court summons in January but work full time and cannot have no license.

A: Without seeing all the materials I cannot say what exactly happened. However, it if you paid off the NY ticket after the deficiency notice was sent to CO, it is possible that your CO license was already suspended before you paid the ticket. Another possibility is that there was a clerical error. Either way, there really is no way to expedite a scheduled court date. You can try to contact the DA to see if you can settle the matter before the court date... You may want to contact an attorney.
