River Grove, IL asked in Car Accidents and Traffic Tickets for Kentucky

Q: I rented a car in Kentucky. I was hit. I didn't know my ins. policy was in my rental docs and got ticketed. Options?

I was told by the car rental people that I was insured all along despite never being told where to locate my insurance documents. I now have a court date coming up and am unsure what to expect.

A: Depends what you were charged with. If it was obvious it was a rental officer should have suggested you look at the document. Either way assuming your ticket is for no insurance you need to bring proof there was insurance. If you were hit by someone else why not get a free consult from a member of the Ky.Justice Assn in the town where the court is.
