Brandon, FL asked in Landlord - Tenant for Illinois

Q: My tenant is requesting food reimbursement for 2 weeks during replacement of a broken oven. Am I responsible for that?

Notification of a broken oven was given on December 9th and it was replaced on December 22nd. Her original notification stated "I hardly cook and definitely not much baking".

A: The answer to your question depends on specific details not provided here, such as the location of the apartment, and the manner in which the tenant notified you of the broken oven. Without knowing all of the information, I would suggest you are not responsible for a food reimbursement, and it will be in your discretion if you would like to credit her for not having access to an oven for almost 2 weeks.
