Q: Do I have to send my three month old daughter to another state to visit her father? we were never married
My child's father and I was never married and he lives in another state. He wants to take our THREE MONTH OLD to another state for over a week. Do I have to let him take her and how often?
A: You do not have to let him take your daughter as you describe. He has no legal rights as the father until he has been named as the father in court. That does not mean that you can't come to agreements with him, ut you don't have to do something that you don't think is in the child's best interests until the court orders it.
