A: I believe that massage therapy would be an area of practice that may be covered by the Illinois Physical Therapy Act and/or the Medical Practice Act. "Program of Care, Counseling, or Treatment" means a written schedule of organized treatment, care, counseling, activities, or education, satisfactory to the Disciplinary Board, designed for the purpose of restoring an impaired person to a condition whereby the impaired person can practice medicine with reasonable skill and safety of a sufficient degree to deliver competent patient care. In any event, if negligence were the cause of an injury suffered because of an act or omission by a massage therapist, you may bring such a claim for damages sustained.
