My mother would do my taxes every year and now i had to contact the irs because this year i tried to do them and the wrong price should up and i found out she put w-2s in there that i did not even work at that year. Then i was out of the state during one of the years. I also am dealing with my family members using my ss# for there own purposes. I have contacted the companys on credit karma but i need some advice, help from a probono lawyer to get this tax situation handled and with the credit.

A: You can report identity theft to the police and the Federal Trade Commission. As for the tax issues, contact a Tax Lawyer and a CPA. More details are necessary to provide a professional analysis of your issue. The best first step is an Initial Consultation with an Attorney. You can read more about me, my credentials, awards, honors, testimonials, and media appearances/ publications on my law practice website. I practice law in CA, NY, MA, and DC in the following areas of law: Business & Contracts, Criminal Defense, Divorce & Child Custody, and Education Law. A: If you cannot afford to hire an attorney you have a couple of options. Try contacting a Low Income Taxpayer Clinic and see if they will take your case. Here is a link to find one near you https://taxpayeradvocate.irs.gov/about/litc

If they will not take your case try your local taxpayer advocate and see if they will assist you. Here is a link to find your local office https://www.irs.gov/advocate/local-taxpayer-advocate

If neither of these options work for you, call a tax attorney. Most of us give a free consultation.
