Phoenix, AZ asked in Family Law, Personal Injury, Child Custody and Civil Litigation for Arizona

Q: How do I file a case to have confidential DCS case info released?

The Az state statute says if reports to child abuse hotline are made and found to be false that I can petition a superior court judge to do an in camera review of the information and decide if they can release the identity of whoever made the false reports to me. I'm positive my ex wife is behind several reports made to the hotline. So do I file a civil lawsuit against the Dept of child safety to have the court possibly release that info to me??

Edit: re: I'm representing myself. The identity of whomever called in the reports is protected b y law for the callers safety. As mentioned above only instances where the claims have been determined to be false can anyone pursue the means I described above to get the information. I'm really just wondering do I file this as a regular

Civil lawsuit? And is the Dept of child safety the propper respondent? I'm not sure if Dcs and. The child abuse hotline are part of each other or seperate entities.

Thanks

Mike

A: You should talk to the attorney who is representing you.Start by seeing if there are any regulations --probably DCS has some so start with that procedure.
