Sun City Center, FL asked in Employment Law for Florida

Q: Can my wife be fire for inquiring about a statement overheard about the sell of our home?

My wife over heard a conversation about our home being sold at her job. She then calls our neighbor to inquire about what she had heard. The neighbor calls the landlord to inquire, this in turns makes the landlord mad at the one whom spoke of this at my wife's job. That person calls my wife's job and has my wife fired for breaking a confidentiality statement.

A: Based on what you provided here, which is not much, it does not seem as much of a case but if you want to be certain or know why, consult with an attorney.

A: Seems like she could and based off what you provided not much of a case here. Best to explore your option with an attorney.
