Q: After gall bladder surgery, I have inflamed / collapsed lungs as per tests due to breathing problems.
Went to surgeon for follow up after 5 days and was told to be active to help healing. Also doing deep breathing exercises as per doctor instruction. Walking for exercise, short of breath after about 15 minutes. Went to regular doctor after a few days and was sent to ER for tests due to BP being way off. Tests show inflamed / collapsed lungs and emphysema. Was given inhaler for emphysema and to medicate lungs to relieve inflammation. Inhaler wasn't helping so I went back to regular doctor who gave me a second inhaler to help open lungs to allow for medication better. Still not breathing well. Walking about 1/2 mile level ground. Doing regular housework and having trouble doing that. Is it possible I may have not gotten all the anesthesia out of me? I was working part time before this happened. Can't go back to work yet due to breathing / stamina issues.
A: You need to see a pulmonologist. Ask for a referral. Don't be critical--be like columbo--"gee, I don't get it what....." Then when someone has given you a better idea of what you have and your outcome, consult a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Assn who handles medical cases--they give free consults.
