Sacramento, CA asked in Wrongful Death for California

Q: my mother was recently killed by a train, her back wheelchair wheel got stuck.

my mom was riding her wheel chair and her back wheel got stuck and a train hit her, my sister had contacted a wrongful death attorney, while our father who has been married to her before i was even born, i am 27, and they only have been togewther 2 years out of all those years actually living together, they were separated and not legally divorced, but not together my father has also contacted an attorney and is pretending like he cares and playing the part of a single father of 2, in which he had no part in my life but only my sisters. so my question is, my sister and father have contacted an attorney, im not sure if he did.. but it seems like it, and he isnt saying anything to me about it. i have met with an attorney with my sister, and did not sign papers, my sister has informed me that the attorney she was talking to dropped the case but sent her a folder with pictures of the accident scene with a tarp over the body? which i saw, how can i tell if she is actually telling the truth?

A: Contact your own attorney. Look for a member of CAOC. The attorney would have sent her a letter saying why he was dropping it.
