Q: Got caught shoplifting at Home Depot asset protection guys chased me off the property and dislocated my arm can I sue

A: Potentially. As a general rule if you are injured as a result of shoplifting you can seek damages. However, certain factors (mostly based on the nature of the whole event) can reduce the award if you were partially responsible for the injuries (e.g. did you first attack the security guards, etc.). Also be aware injury due to shoplifting does not usually make the most sympathetic client. The injury will also have no impact on the criminal shoplifting charges.
