A: Typically the agreement actually states 30 days...as in 'no penalty shall accrue on sums paid within 30 days of service of the Order Approving Compromise & Release Agreement'. But I can't tell what this 'order' is from this question. If there is a Findings & Award from a trial, there could be an appeal filed on the 25th day, and no payment will come until the appeal is resolved in your favor. If this 'Order' is approval of Stipulations With REquest For Award, you might have to wait months, as the payments come 'due' every two weeks and if you received any overpayment of Permanent Disability monies, the insurer gets to wait the number of weeks it overpaid. The Labor Code says payment must be made within 20 days of an order and the Civil Code says they get 5 days for mailing, so the general rule is that payment is due 25 days from date of a judge's order.
