I am a niece by marriage. What paperwork do I need to be able to make decisions for her?
A: If you are not named as your aunt's agent under both a Durable [Financial] Power of Attorney and a Medical Power of Attorney, you will need to apply to become her guardian. Check with your County Clerk for a list of local Approved Guardianship Attorneys.
