Plainfield, NJ asked in Traffic Tickets for New Jersey

Q: How can my vehicle be considered an abandoned vehicle if it is parked in front of my house?

My car was parked in front of my house. We had a snow storm. I did not shovel out the car. My car was towed and the reason given was abandonment. I'm not sure how you abandon a car in front of your own house. I did not receive a ticket and now I have a court date.

A: Much more information is needed to answer your question such as the exact charge, town you were in etc. In any event many towns have regulations stating you must move your car weekly or twice a week if your going to park on the local streets. Look up the charge you have and google the regulation violation.
