Q: Can a record telephone conversation which is with consent of one of the callers be used by the latter for

use in a civil case beteen the same two parties.

A: Exceptions always exist but as long as one party to the conversation consented you should be good.

A: Federal law and many state wiretapping statutes, including Illinois, permit recording if one party (including you) to the phone call or conversation consents. Other states require that all parties to the communication consent.
