Q: If I sell a car I fix and it breaks down and causes an accident, am I liable?
I have an old sports car with an unreliable distributor. It has failed on me twice in the past and I am tired of fixing it. I want to sell it, but I have to replace it to get the car running again. If I fix it and it fails again like it did on me, cutting off the motor and power assists, and it causes a wreck, is it my responsibility?
A: If you didn't disclose it to the seller. Yoiu should mention it gave problems, you have fixed it but they will need to have it looked at--or you have a specialist look at it. Sounds like something else maybe?
