Q: Without me knowing my father talk with shop bout fixing a peterbilt I never ok for nothing who is responsible

While I'm gone, not home, without me knowing my father talks with a shop bout fixing my peterbilt, I never ok anything, when I found out and went over to shop they already had my engine stripped, and now won't let me have my own truck without giving them $21000! I don't have that kinda money, what can I do, and no, I never signed anything, okd nothing!

A: Your claim is against your father. He authorized the work, so he should pay for it. He had apparently authority to act, so I don't think there is any fault on the part of the repair shop. They did the work as instructed, and are therefore entitled to retain possession of the vehicle until they are paid. if your father acted without your permission, he caused the situation and should be required to pay. The legal term is "conversion"- he converted or exercised control over something without your consent.
