Q: How do age of consent laws work if you live in different states?
I'm 18 and my girlfriend is 16. I live in Illinois, would it be illegal for us to have sex? Because while the age of consent is 17 in Illinois, the age of consent in the state where my girlfriend lives is 16. How does this work?
A: Don't do it....she is way too young and there is always a risk that she might get pregnant. It's illegal in Illinois so you are opening up a huge can of worms. What if her parents get mad and call the police and allege you two had sex in Illinois? I would highly recommend you refrain from sexual conduct or find a new girlfriend that's your age
