A: If you were convicted, they stay on your record forever. If they were dismissed they stay on your record forever unless you hire an attorney to file a petition for expunction. If you completed deferred adjudication probation they stay on your record forever but the record can probably be sealed for most civilian purposes if you hire an attorney to file a petition for order of nondisclosure.
