Q: Found a dog. How long until I can claim as it's owner?
I found a dog the other day. My wife and I want to keep it. We have made all efforts to try and locate the owner. We've put up fliers, posted on Facebook which has been shared over 1000 times, reported to the Animal control center, notified several veterinarians and pet stores in my area. I would like to know how long before we can rightfully and lawfully claim this dog as our own? Also if the owner comes forward months from now what are our rights?
