Bolingbrook, IL asked in Criminal Law and Juvenile Law for Illinois

Q: Do I have a chance at winning this case ?

I recently worked at Kohls , it was my first job. and I was told that employees could only put clothes on hold , or items over $25 . ( mind you my record is CLEAN) during my break I Grabbed a shirt and a cup (World Series , cubs) & I concealed the cup because I really wanted to get it for my father and I placed it in my locker and I put the shirt on hold. When I went on my meal I grabbed my purse and the shirt. I had forgot all about the cup since it was put up and when I went to pay for the shirt I walked out & was stopped by the LP. That is when I realized I had the cup still in my purse. I was really cooperative and went in the office & explained myself to her and the police officer and her boss. None of which believed me. This was a honest mistake and i didn't understand why a cup was such a big deal. I could've paid for the cup and been fired . (which I offered) the officer gave me a ticket for $250, I will present the bank statement and explain the situation, do I have a chance ?

A: Do not just plead guilty to be done with it.

Try to take care of it in a way that your record can be expunged later.

You really do need to hire an attorney.
