Q: Years ago I filed bankruptcy and i can't find the documents, I need the filing date and case #, how do I find these?

A: Their is an online system. It is called PACER. Go to www.pacer.gov and set up an account, and you can find it

A: I would recommend you go to the Bankruptcy Court clerks office where your case was filed and they will be able to get this information for you. They can also provide you copies if you need same. They will also need your social security number as that is how your case will be identified in their records. If you had an attorney, their office could also provide you this information if you give them a call. Another possibility would be to contact a bankruptcy attorney office in your area and you may be able to get them to log into the PACER System which is an Archieve of all Federal Govt Court Records.
