Q: Seeking first step in tolling statue of limitations
Slip and fall
A: There is no first step in tolling a statute of limitations. For a slip and fall in GA, the statute of limitations is 2 years from date of fall. Things that toll the statute are mental incapacity, not yet being 18 years old and death. There could be others.

A:
File the petition before the 2 year limitation. That is the only thing that stops it. I feel as if you are trying to ask something different so I am not sure that you have asked the correct question. The only thing that stops the limitation period is filing suit, so hire your lawyer quickly and inform them of the urgency if you are getting close to the expiration date. Good luck!
