Q: Can a commercial vehicle stop his truck at the end of an on ramp to a major highway? Route 78 to be exact.

The truck stopped at the end of the merging lane and forced a car behind it to stop, and then that car was severely struck in the rear,

A: The car that got rear ended can make a claim against the driver that rear ended them. They should have seen the truck was stopped. The truck presumably stopped waiting for traffic to clear.. As long as it wasn't fully parked, yes it can stop. If it was fully parked it needed to set out warning triangles etc.If you were rear ended, youi have a claim; contact a member of the NJAJ--they give free consults.
