Lexington, SC asked in Workers' Compensation for Florida

Q: Second opinion contrasted with first doctor's opinion. Should I have received compensation for the time between appts?

Despite my nurse case manager requesting a nerve function test, my job being unsafe to perform in then condition, and being unable to pass the regular physicals required by the government to perform my job, my first doctor released me back to work with no restrictions. Requested a second opinion immediately, but had to wait over two months to see the new physician due to issues of payment between the doctors and the insurance. The second doctor put me back on restricted duty and sent me for the requested nerve test. (There are no restricted duty jobs available to me.) The nerve test results backed up what I had been stating and the doctor continued me on restricted duty while attempting to address the issue. Workers Compensation was stopped while I was waiting for the second opinion, renewed after that appointment, but no funds were received for the two months in between while I was unable to work. I live in SC, but the injury occurred in Florida. My employer is nationwide.
