Canal Winchester, OH asked in Personal Injury and Traffic Tickets for Ohio

Q: Will I get my license suspended at 16 in ohio if I was at fault in a t-bone crash where i was hit on the side of my car?

I approach an intersection where the person to my right had the right of way. I stopped at the stop sign and look to my left saw no cars then looked to my right. I saw the car that I collided with approaching from far away when I looked to my right but they were a good ways away and I knew I had time to cross the intersection. As I cross the intersection the car crashed into me. they must have been speeding and going very fast to hit me like they did. However of course I was put at fault and got a traffic ticket for failure to yield at a stop sign and have a court date on July 5. I am only 16 and got my license back in April. Will my license get suspended when I go to court? Or will I just have to make a statement at court?

A: Depends on what the citation is. Worth it for you to make arrangements with your parents to speak with an attorney who handles tickets at that courthouse. Do not discuss this at all on social media. See if there was a camera at the intersection. If you had a stop sign and the other driver didn't, then you will be at fault for something--maybe that something can be bargained down, but you will have to pay a fine and your folks insurance may say you can't drive their cars.
