Q: My daughter has liver damage cause by a methyldopa. Does she have grounds for medical malpractice?

Methyldopa was prescribed for hypertension February 2017. She constantly paid for repeat doctor visits complaining of body weakness, nausea and achy joints. Doctor advised nothing was wrong. She finally went to the emergency room where she was diagnosed with acute hepatitis and referred to a gastroenterologist . After complete blood panels, it was determined that she has cirrhosis of the liver excarbated by the methyldopa.
