Fairfax, VA asked in Traffic Tickets for Virginia

Q: i got a ticket for not having VA inspection sticker in my new car (11 months old , bought from outside state).

I though that for new car it is not required. when registered in VA DMV i asked them if anything required and they said nothing. All these months i guess was lucky. Today i caught up for the first time and officer gave me uniform summons but no case number in it. Also It is not showing in court website too. He ticked for prepayment option. How can I pre pay this ticket ? or is it worth to go court and plea for waive off ? will it impact my driving records ?

Court is Henrico general district court

A: If you just got the ticket today, it might take a couple of days before it appears updated on the website for prepayment.

In a many jurisdictions if you appear for court with proof that you have gotten the vehicle's inspection up to date, the judge often will dismiss the ticket. You should speak to an attorney in your specific jurisdiction to find out how your local courts typically handle these types of cases.
