Q: 5 days since I was injured in car that rear-ended another car. When in FLA is my "cut off" date to talk/hire legal aid?
The driver (my friend) doesn't own the car, it's her moms car and
she has no insurance herself at all. They havr filed the insurance claim and for their own odd reasons lied not listed any passengers, being my son and myself. The driver of car I was in admitted fault and was ticketed for following to close and has upcoming traffic court. Can they get in trouble for not telling Adjusters? I have been waiting on word from my friend for claim number and copy of police report. Now she's acting weird and told me not to see ER for a checkup or any injuries, that inlay be billed medically for. I was told by them, my friend will be liable to pay all my medical bills and anything needed medically done go me. I am confused and lost. The other driver that was hit is filling against insurance of my friends mom and has already seen ER, pain doctor, and attorney. Please help and thank you. Any more. Info needed please ask. Thank you!
A: Never mind what your "friend" says, you should notify the insurance carrier immediately.
A: As the driver who was driving the vehicle that you were in is determined to be at fault, you have the legal right to file the claim against her insurance policy. This allows you to receive financial compensation for the injuries incurred in the accident.
A:
Contact a member of the Fla. Justice Assn. They give free consults. Don't give any recorded statements.
The police report will have the policy information. Hopefully that lists you and your son as occupants.
The moms insurance has to tell you what the policy provides.
A: You should contact the insurance company as soon as possible. In Florida, there are some time deadlines for getting treated and for informing the insurance company. The police report should be available for pick up or online retrieval. Most personal injury attorneys will provide a free consultation. Get proper legal advice and guidance from an attorney in your geographic area. Good luck.
