Q: Can I get around the publication part of the name change if I had a ex-boyfriend who was molesting?

A: Ultimately the judge decides whether or not the publication requirement is required. If you have health/safety concerns, there is a realistic possibility that a judge may waive the publication requirement, but there are no guarantees.
