Buffalo, NY asked in Traffic Tickets for New York

Q: In New York if a speeding ticket is plead down, does it count towards the three in 18 months restriction?

So let's say you have 2 speeding tickets in a year, but they were both plead down to parking tickets, simple violations, etc and you plead guilty to that, would a 3rd speeding ticket result in your license being suspended?

A: Parking tickets and simple violations don't generally have points associated with them, so if you don't have points a speeding ticket will not result in a suspended license unless it was a violation that included suspending your license as a possible penalty.

A: If the tickets were downgraded the original accusation doesn't matter, so you are essentially getting the first speeding ticket.
