You need to fight your ticket, to get it dismissed. Then, a CIVIL court can decide the civil liability.
Police should have cited that driver going 100 with reckless driving, at a minimum. If any PERSONAL injuries to you or a passenger, tell me location of the crash, and I can refer you to a good civil attorney in that area.
If only vehicle damages, no need to call. That money should be "automatically" paid to you.
